Anything worth having takes time,
patience and a committed attitude to create change. I recall one
weekend out enjoying a weekend of music there were words spoken by
several recording artist who shared their personal testimonies of how
good God truly is. I noticed when each shared their struggles with
their past addictions they acknowledged and recognized the one and only
true God that delivered them from their degradation of sin; these two
entertainers struggled with a purpose. As they shared their testimony
the whole building got extremely quiet for a moment as there was a
seriousness and transparent attitude from each performer who identified
their particular sins.
We all struggle with something, whether it's with: chemical dependency, co-workers, employment or unemployment issues, our finances, friendly or not so friendly relationships, martial relationships, people who are haters or has a jealous spirit, a quick-tempered spirit rather than a patient one, sex addiction, unhealthy food choices, and weight and health concerns; there are many kinds of struggles and troubles we experience at different seasons in our lives. Although we go through trouble; we are not alone, because God is a very present help in times of trouble. Psalms 46:1.
As we go through life there is always a purpose and reason for each lesson we experience. Whether the outcome is good, bad, or indifferent the hope is to learn from the challenges we endure. The trials are temporary and they do not last forever. The challenges we faced are designed to: strengthen our faith, to let us know we are not to depend on ourselves; but to depend on the one who is responsible for our existence and well-being, to keep us from pride, to help us grow and to prove our faith to ourselves and others, and letting people know that even in our sinful condition (mess), God can still use us; to bless us in a new and due season. II Corinthians 4:17-18. Am I suggesting us to practice sin; absolutely not? What I am suggesting though is that in spite of our weaknesses and strongholds that can demoralize us at certain times, we should look to God who is able to deliver us from any and every affliction we go through.
When was the last time you truly humble yourself and ask God to help you? There is nothing better than knowing the facts that you are not alone and help is always available. We cannot get around trouble because it is on every side, we must go through the troubles of life to become a better person for the purposes and reasoning that develop our character for the better; working out your own salvation with the help of the Lord. Philippians 2:12-13.
To overcome any and every struggle, challenge, obstacle, or trouble a one step process is necessary; which is to ask for help. God has a way of using the right people at the right time in our lives to deliver us once we have had enough of the worldly lifestyle that can plague us for a while. Once you and I are sick and tired of being sick and tired struggling and wanting to press forward; then and only then will our purpose and meaning in life be fulfill. A change of behavior within us will produce actions that can only be orchestrated by the grace and mercies of God; not only to be a blessing to ourselves, but to be a blessing to others. Press forward and let God use you; even in your own struggles!
